As part of my job, I get to widen the minds of young children. Yes, they actually put me in the front of a roomful of toddlers and say "go." The parents are there so we can't get too far into the indoctrination of why mornings shouldn't start before noon and the joys of being nocturnal and totally caffeine dependent ...but increasing their exposure to hedgehogs--that we can do.
Pathetic, right? Here I am, shoving my opinion of what a cute animal is on impressionable children. Fortunately--Jan Brett is here to lend a hand. Have you seen the activities page that woman has put together! Story time ideas EVERYWHERE!!! So many wonderful activities, coloring pages, craft ideas and things...
I'm going to be visiting this page a lot. And Hedgehog themed story time is currently scheduled for February.

LOL - I was just showing one of student workers this yesterday - I had almost forgotten about it until I saw her classroom materials she had laminated and I remembered my children's lit class and cutting out tons of fun things from Jan Brett's printables! Its just such an awesome page - I just unfortunately do not have much of a use for it (I am a single academic librarian with no kids, lol) But I think it is still one of the most awesome webpages on the planet - and that she would give away so much of her very talented illustrations is amazing...
It is incredibly generous of her! It's good to know I'm not the only one wrapped in this world of hedgies.
